VOC is a measurement of the total volatile organic compounds evaporating from a coating’s film during the application and drying process, excluding water. VOC’s are measured in grams per liter or in pounds per gallon. The VOC content of all paint coatings is regulated at the State and Federal level of 250gram/liter now and 100 gram/liter after Jan 01, 2011. Over several decades from 1975 to 2008 the levels of VOC in Kelly-Moore paints have been produced downward with a amount 750 – 560 – 450 – 300 – 100 – 50 – 15 – 0 in an effort to reduce the effects of green house gas on our environment. 95% of all the architectural coatings manufactured by the Kelly-Moore Paint Company are formulated to meet the State of California VOC regulations, which are the most stringent in the Nation, and are sold throughout the Western United States.
In the last two years, Kelly-Moore have earned a lot of Awards from State, Federal and private Institute for the Best Manufacturer who makes good low/zero VOC quality paint. We are proud to have earned a reputation as leaders and innovators in the paint industry.
